I set myself the target of running 600 miles this year, todays easy run took me to 601 miles so I'm a happy bunny.
I've joined the 750 mile group of Fetch for next year, it will be a push but all the long runs I will have to do early next year should get me up there. I won't mention my cycling miles as they've not been that great, however the commuting I've been doing has helped so I'm going to set myself a target of 2000 miles next year.
I may review it upwards but I'm factoring in that the marathon training may take a lot out of me at times and the cycling will take a back seat.

Sound like good targets, I'm trying to decide what would be a sensible running target for me for next year. You are right that marathon training will take a lot of time!
ReplyDeletecongratulations! which marathon are you doing?
ReplyDeleteEdinburgh on the 31st May. My parents live about 15 miles west of Edinburgh so I have somewhere to stay. Still can't believe I've decided to run that far on tarmac!
ReplyDeletemy first ever event was a road marathon. i have not ran that far on tarmac since-that was 3 years ago!!! i have also never taken so long to recover or been in so much pain but i think that was due to a lot of newbie mistakes-i'm sure you'll be fine :)
